lol yall are gonna have a sound off? not jankin on the soundoff, good idea, but the last show I went to behind Zoo City some woman came over and poured water on the DJs equipment, and he wasnt playin the music all that loud. you really think the people in that neighborhood arent gonna raise hell when the bass starts thumpin?

I think it was last year (September-ish) and I wasnt knockin the idea. if they have a sound permit, thats fine...but it still doesnt stop the neighbors from being pissed. I was just sayine...
carguy07
10-19-2009, 01:13 PM
The moral of the story is they better have a sound permit. I remember the Club Wars show there turned into a whisper off once the neighborhood citizens got done watching Murder She Wrote.

ok, to be honest...extremely disappointed. nothing there besides that nice SS Camaro, a red fox body Mustang with a nice cent. blower and RC drag racing that even caught my eye. bunch of SUV's wielding big wheels and lambo doors, some CTS with doors that opened some retarded way that even my 4yo son laughed at, and others i will just end it there tho. waist of time and my money IMHO. it was so awful that i left before my car was judged cuz i couldn't take it anymore and said "fvck it, they can keep my money!". guess i'm into the whole "show" thing even less than i expected. i saw a couple of things show up that looked decent, then disappeared in minutes lol. saw spectators come and go in 5 minutes. would've rather gone to the Columbus Museum. atleast the money went to charity, otherwise, i would've asked for it back!

Yea I have noticed over the years of me being into cars that show car quality has went down so far. There is no wow anymore, its either seen that or he shouldn't have done that. Every car show you hear bout kinda always don't turn out good hear. What they need to do is look at the guys out west and follow their trend. Lowriders have been out for so long but they still freaking amaze me because they have that wow to them and I'm not even into show like that. They do stuff to their cars and it makes you think is that possible. But honestly what would bring a lot of ppl out is if we had more meet and greets because they have better turnouts. The meet and greet at ptap for club wars was one of the best things columbus has and midnight run. Its because you have ppl that know bout cars that want to chat, meet new ppl, see wat you got, and less rice.
StevenSTi
10-25-2009, 02:08 PM
Columbus is ghetto...what can you say? thats what the car shows are going to be from now on, so you might as well get used to it. "South Columbus" comes all the way up to Manchester Rd now...I dont even go to the mall anymore and they are startin to take over the strip mall. It makes it hard to go anywhere without a gun, I dont even walk around my house without a weapon on me anymore lol

i will say it until i turn blue in the face, a good show in Columbus comes down to letting people know about it. Jason you did a great job promoting the show at Legacy. Atlanta has big events because of forums like importatlanta. i fully understand that Columbus is a fraction the size of Atlanta, but we could definitely do a lot better getting the word out. i don't have the answer, but i look forward to finding it someday.

i agree. i loved that show at legacy, minus the long wait into the night lol but even then there was plenty of people to talk to and look at their cars. we just need to spread the word out more. i told people every weekend about that show and to bring their friends. i know alot of buddies that want to do another club war event.

lol, i saw one of them, the first name. she didn't look too bad with clothes on. they also had some skinny, boney looking girl. me and Erich had plenty of good laughs at her expense. oh well, back to the topic. i don't really care about the show scene in Columbus. the only reason i like to go to car shows are to see the performance mods that are done to the car, and there are few cars in Columbus that even have anything besides I,H,E ( me included :) ). i did say few, i know there are some cars out there with some substantial mods.

club wars was a great idea, but i don't think i can plan an event like that while in college three hours away. i'm thinking about doing some things to get the forum name out there, but the mod incentive has done quite well. all i can say is if you hear about a show, PLEASE post it up and let people know about it.

Okay...I have read just about all I can without saying something. All I am seeing is NEGATIVE "smack" talk about Lowline Customs...but have you put on a show or done any charity events in the area??? NO, all you are doing is trash talking our show. it is YOUR fault you left without getting judged. You could have come to the registration booth and asked for your ride to be moved or asked to be judged before you left...but you didn't. Also, yes Jason did do a good job of promoting his show at Legacy...so did we...We had radio spots on 3 different stations, it was advertised on WTVM, and we had flyers out all over the community since August. Our first show that we hosted in February had over 150 entrants and was a huge success...were you there for that one????????? There were so many other events going on in the area that people can only do so many at a time. Also you need to realize that the show scene has dramaticly decreased due to the deployment of so many soldiers. We can not help the "ghetto" vehicles as you call them that showed up to our show...at least they came out to support! There were a handful of clubbs that showed up and for that we are greatful and will support them in any event that they put on. For all of the other "show car clubs" around this area, LowLine has supported you in all of your events and we are dissapointed to know that you are not worried about keeping the scene alive, showing dedication, and supporting the area clubs. To the main guy talking crap..Steam Hammer...I don't see you doing anything to keep or upgrade the show scene in Columbus...so until you do I think its best you keep your opinions to yourself! The turnout was not what we had expected and the show was not a waste of time/money! We had a great time w/ the costume contest and frozen t-shirt contest! The trophies were awesome and we were able to do all of that for CHARITY!!! As for the LowLine girls...The "skinny one" was not part of LowLine Customs...If you knew how to read first before typing she was from a company called Xstatic Batcap. Both of the LowLine girls were there...one of them was working for Batcap and the other was working in the registration booth. I have been a part of the show scene for a very long time and have been to shows that were the "best of the best" and shows that were horrible...but that is part of the show scene world...its all about getting your ride/club out there and showing off what you have!
BE SUPPORTIVE OF YOUR LOCAL CLUBS...THIS IS WHAT THE SHOW SCENE IS ABOUT, NOT TRASH TALKING AND PUTTING DOWN THOSE FOR TRYING TO KEEP THE SCENE ALIVE..AND I AM SURE THAT THEY KEEP THIS MOTTO IN THE "WEST COAST" TOO!

rant
woah man a lot of people like hating on the internet, just let it go. if i listened to people who talked bad about my car i would've killed myself a couple years ago. and the advertising comment is not a personal attack at all. i live in athens during the school year (~9 months out of the year), so i don't have the opportunity to watch WTVM or listen to columbus radio stations.
and yes i did come to your show in February, without a driver's license (i had to convince someone to drive me home, i cleaned my car, and convinced someone else to drive me to the show). hell i went to the Tunerfest show in atlanta during a flood. all that matters is you and your club had a good time, and money was raised for charity. i obviously wanted to support the show, which is why i posted it here. i would attend more shows but the college football season affects a lot of my free weekends in the fall.
one final thing: for every 1 person that hates 10-15 people enjoyed themselves. if you would like to see some statistical analysis on this fact, pm me. if not, take my word for it and remember it anytime someone says something you disagree with.
carguy07

and to everyone else, this is not going to become a hater's site. if you want to talk shit about someone, don't do it on here. small jokes and sarcasm is fine, so is making jokes with friends. if you have a problem with someone/something, discuss it in person or in PM's. i don't want to actually make and enforce a no bashing policy, but i will if i have to.

chill guy. i didn't enjoy the show and have every right to loudly voice my opinion about how i feel about it and the cars that showed up. and i entered the show to show my support, but left because the show sucked. i didn't care about being judged or winning trophies, i used that as a reference to how early i left. and if the "scene" is huge gaudy body kits ( some kits look nice, but most are not ), huge heavy systems, multi-color interior and neon lights....keep it. relax, i am the only one talking shit about the show, haha, the way you responded is like everyone was. i said it before, i'm just glad it was 100% for charity. next time i will just post, "it sucked!!!" and leave it at that. sensitive aren't we :hurt:
i sure hope Kevo won something...otherwise if i were him, i'd be pissed lol. oh yeah, i did see him there, his stang is worth mentioning. it's even cleaner in person. you didn't miss anything, but seriously, everyone needed to see how that CTS' rear doors opened....really, WTF!
Thanks for the props, but I didn't even register. We showed up with 4 cars from the club but only two registered, the blue 427R Roush didn't even register. When I walked up to the booth and asked about the classes that is what turned me off about the show. Custom, Classic, Bike. So therefore, my car would be up against the Caddy with the fully swinging doors and 56" rims. I stayed around to the end, enjoyed the time with my friends that were there and watching the frozen tshirt contest (thought that was a pretty good idea btw). I know all the proceeds went to Children's Miracle Network, but I donate to them every year anyways ever since my daughter was born. She stayed at the Medical Center for 2.5 months when she was born 3 month premature. I know where that money goes and that is why I support them.
Also I'm curious, the older man walking around snapping pics with the 2 girls, where do those pics go? I would have asked if I had been over there when it was taking but I was too busy staring at Tom's '70 SS Camaro again...geez that car is pure sex.

yeah same here. i may not be the biggest fan of lowline and people know that, but ill still support charity. ill talk about a car on here and in person. cuz thats my opinion and no one can change that but me. it takes alot to put on a show and its a huge group effort.
i personally only heard about the show on here and i listen to pretty much very station in columbus. props to jason because he know how to promote. thats why there was AEP in the first place. he put alot of time/effort/ money into his events (NOT SAYING YALL DIDNT) and it showed.
to talk about the show id really have to have been there to judge, but just the judging seemed off to me. yeah it cost more money to break the show up into more groups tho, so i fully understand 3 classes. but really now people are going for performance with style. for example, yeah a titanium intake piping is lightweight and strong to hold boost, but at the same time if has the heat burns on it, it looks crazy sick under the hood. thats what HIN and LA auto salon is all about. function with spice
people also have to understand, alot of low lines members are young and are just starting out, so yeah their cars arent the best but atleast they promote the scene.
steam hammer is right tho also. if he thinks it sucked, then he thinks that. if i didnt like it id have left to. but atleast he wasnt a dick about it and asked for his money back. and mike is mike. dont let him get to you
