I do have spacers on it. You were actually there when they were put on discontained... same time the rims were put on.... They actually have spacers lifting the rear up too to go along with pushing them out, because my wheels scrubbed really bad with the fenders in the front. Actually I did resize the pic twice. It was huuuuuuuuuge but I think this is just fine. And yes I do have fog lights but they are in the middle part. We did try to put them where the factory ones went but they stuck out way past the car. I'm probably going to have to get some mesh to cover it up because it does stick out like a sore thumb.

love the rims itself, but i think for a widebody, a rim with like a 3' lip would be nasty, just an opinion, car looks good as is though

Car looks good and is clean. I second the rim change idea for something that would fit the wide body kit better, also the transformers logo has gotta go. The scion around town with the big one on the hood has killed that already.

SteamHammer

looks good. it's just i really don't like body kits, and that one is huge. i agree also on the wheel spacing and the decal.

MsTibTib
11-20-2009, 06:06 PM
Yea the only bad thing is... find me a front wheel drive rim with a 3 inch lip that actually looks good?! I ran into that problem when I was looking because I'm very picky with rims. I tend to stay towards the 5-6 spoke rim. I also was hoping the spacers would fix it but obviously not... :(

lol yea I was kinda bummed when I saw the scion...

However, I along with Chad had the emblems not vinyls way before he showed up with it. It was meant for something a lot bigger than just having the logo. In Cali there was a car club called the Autobots. Since then, from what I have seen they have practically split up... but I liked the idea of it... Seeing as it does have something to do with cars. Chad (my fiance), I and some others talked about trying to start up a southeastern chapter. A club that was put together to show off what Columbus and the surrounding area had.

I dont mean cars that put 1 thing on it and it still looks shoty or the cars that have the horrible sounding mufflers that try to bust your ear drums when they hit the throttle. (and for those of you that will have a smart comment to what I just said... like well if you were fast enough then you wouldnt ever hear it because they wouldnt pass you.. Well it happens when I'm just driving down the road and not racing)

It would be meant for cars that even those who looks at what we do and put their noses up to it.. say damn that looks good. I can respect what they do now... We talked about everyone still being in whatever club they were in but be a part of autobots also.. so that when you do happen to go to a car show... people would begin to see that Columbus has more than the riced out wanna be racers.

Lowline as much as some people know I cant stand for the most part, actually had a great idea (my explanation follows) . They were attempting to get everyone in Columbus and the surround area together again who enjoyed hooking up their cars. Where they went wrong is letting anyone and everyone in whether their car looked like crap or not.

There are very few cars in Columbus that are show material if you talk about bringing it to nopi etc. I cant seem to get it through my head why people are starting to go to just working on their engine and not caring what the outside looks like. I HATE TO BREAK IT TO YA PEOPLE..... STREET RACING IS ILLEGAL AND THERE IS PRACTICALLY NO WHERE IN COLUMBUS YOU CAN DO IT ANYMORE WITHOUT GETTING CAUGHT.

I also dont mean a club that people can get kicked out of just because they didnt do something to their car that month or any month for that matter. If it looks good... then they will be in. Ok I got it all out... you know how us females are :) Our griping in nicer terms can take a long time :) Thank you ... have a nice day!

Lol at your last post.

Car looks good now that you got it painted though. Getting a big group for say NOPI or something sounds good to me though.

Oh and my wheels have a 3" lip. ; )

Holy book batman..

I skimmed over it but that part in bold caught my attention. Lets see if I can answer that to my experience. I have never been into show cars, or the car shows myself. I cant really see myself ever being one in fact. Car shows are lame, unless its a exotic show. People who put effort and spend hours building and tuning engines not giving a shit about there exterior look is because we arent trying to impress people with our badass vinyl graphics or our super ballin' spoilers lip kits etc. I know im all go no show mindset. Building a engine is a art, and it gives a car soul.

Street racing is no doubt legal. I really dont know why people do it here in columbus, half the cars that talk smack actually run people. Most of the other ones give excuses and whatnot. Atlanta street racing is awesome. I havent been in a few years but its by far the best experience i have ever had. I rather take it to the track.

and LOL @ autobots..

building an engine for power or reliablily and building a car for a show or just to look good are all the same. you do what you want with your car. people who build there cars for looks aren't lame and niether are car shows. on the other hand. building an engine for speed or power is not laime either. it is all up the person that does it. I used to build show cars becuase that was my passion and not once will I ever regret going to 100 plus shows. just like people that build race cars will never regret going to races. so neither aspect of the car scene is lame or gay. It's just about what your passion is for.

The whole auto bot thing. not so sure about. I know they were huge in the west and started growing nationally not as a club but as a marking of being part of the auto scene. I have scene it on both show and track cars. But there is also a reason it died out. becuase it lost its meaning.

I've never heard that info about lowline saying any thing like that before. new to me.

i've never been a show person either, but do enjoy going to some shows. when you have nice cars and good, knowledgeable people its good fun. but lots of shows do have lots of lame cars and very very few nice cars...well that's all IMO of course. you see, i don't like body kits ( a clean lip kit can be nice at times ), don't like overly done systems, neon lights are horrible. over-done interior sucks...a couple painted interior pieces are fine but if you have a seizure because of all the multicolors and lights on the interior its a WTF moment. i absolutely hate modified doors and find it ridiculous to go to a show and see when people get there, they open the door and drive around like fags. so that's why i've never been a car show fan, because there is a more of that going on than people that just want to build a clean, nice looking car.

overall, i think it got to this strange point in car shows for me for two reasons. first, too many people went to extreme measures to stand out and went on a quest to be different, which in turn lead to dumb looking cars. it's like a Ms. America pageant that has a ton of ugly women and a few model types, and the the ugly ones wear the craziest looking, ugliest clothes and put neon lights on their forehead so they will be noticed. and second is the price conspiracy. lots of people can't afford to do nice mods to their car, so they figured they would make up for it with tons of lame, cheap mods. this is all just my opinion tho.

sorry for the long post. and everyone said your car looked good, why did i get a defensive vibe from your book? all you got was minor criticism. you posted a pic of your car on the internet, be prepared for that. i would definitely get the same from a picture of mine because my car would not be everyone's cup-of-tea. it boils down to what Jason said...build what you like, just be prepared to be criticized. not everyone is going to like it.

*edit* and who said everyone that builds engines vs show cars street races? what kind of profiling is that? i believe there is a good handful of people on AEP that pay more attention to their engine than the looks...so that was an awful comment.

Wow, that took awhile to read thru this thread. First, I have to say I like the car. I respect show cars. People put time and lots of money into them. Same goes for track cars. I think the car is an extension of the owner and the owner no matter how he or she mods their car should do it the way they feel is right.

In response to some previous posts. It took a while but is long overdue. I wasn't getting defensive about people stating their opinions.. I like criticism when it is helpful and not bashing me.

I do feel I need to clarify myself when I talk about only working on the engine and not the exterior... I don't mean put vinyl's on your car or anything like that, which was just useless verbiage by even implying that was what I meant. What I meant was just making it look clean( doesn't have to have a body kit for it to look clean to me)... You can build a car for power yes, but who really cares unless the rest of the car looks good with it... That is my opinion and is only meant for daily driven cars... Track cars are completely different to me...

But yes I do agree car shows do have a lot of nice cars and lame cars... They do tend to get lame after a while when people with NICE cars DONT show up with their NICE cars to show. The extreme measures was kind of a bad comment too...
People customize cars to be different and show off what they think is a good looking car... Everyone has their own opinion on what looks good and doesn't. Steam, you did do a good job clarifying your opinion. No one wants to see a whole bunch of stock cars sitting around, or ones with just little things done but practically is still stock, or ones that have absolutely no business even showing their car. I have more respect for daily drivers than I do with trailered cars if the trailered cars is what you mean by extreme measures.

You really can't say I am profiling if I am being honest. Yes, there are some on here that build their engines to be durable and add just a little bit of power, but to sit there and act like most on here don't do it for the speed is a pure joke and very much naive.

Now the comment about losing respect for anyone who has an autobot badge because of some dumb looking car that has it... NOW THATS A BAD COMMENT... I have yet to see that guy around and nor does matter, but it in no way represents my car or anyone else that has one.... I honestly get a lot of compliments on it to go along with people having no idea what kind of car i have...

Ok my book is done... and thanks to those who actually gave beneficial criticism...

its the internet. Why did you post? To show off, tell us about your car, etc... Not everyone will like it, everyone can and will have there own opinions. I myself think that the autobot thing is silly, but hey I can have that opinion. Mmmhmm Sure can. Also, its not just that car, as i show example. I mean the movie was great I enjoyed it, I also like dukes of hazzard, and WRC, doesnt mean I am gonna go out and slap logos and emblems on my car. I wasnt raggin on your car but since you called me out ha, figure I should step up and tell you how i feel. Im all for people doing there own thing with there own cars, until they start slappin on logos from other cars.. Im not one for body kits, or other flashy stuff. My car looks great from the factory so I dont need to add a huge kit on it. KTHX

just to prove Mike's point: he would never drive my car but we get along great. as long as you're happy with the car, that is what matters. not everyone will like what you've done, but it doesn't mean you need defend it and take joking the wrong way.

Yes, everyone has their opinion... But this whole thing got turned into I got defensive about someone saying they didn't like my car which is no way is true... But what I did get defensive about was the autobot comment. Not the part about discontained saying he didnt like some stuff about my car... but his comment about he lost respect for anyone who has an autobot badge. Let's say that red car had discontaineds rims on it, and I made the comment... I lost respect for anyone who has those rims because of that red car. I'm pretty sure your making the same face I did, and thinking what I did... Wtf kind of comment is that... not to mention some other things.

I didnt get the badge because someone else had it on their car.. I got the badges way before seeing anyone with them on their cars. Plus I got it because of comments that were made by the way MY car looks. If you look under the hood you would understand... Mainly had to do with having a car with extras and the plastic cover that sits on my engine and what it looks like.

I completely see where you are coming from. The thing is we all exaggerate on the internet to joke around. I like your car, and a badge on the side won't change that. I was a car of the month finalist on another forum and a guy said he liked my car except for a blue coupler on my intake. He didn't vote for me because of a coupler. It came with the intake (no choice), and I never wasted money swapping it out. Some people nitpick, and you just have to let it go.
