The verison wireless USB modem? If so that is basically a cell phone, if you have a verizon phone and have service there then the modem should work also. I have a shit load of them at work ppl use when go out of town and such. I'll look for a 6ft cable but doubtful I got one laying around the office.

What model is it. Is there no signal or are you getting a "Limited or No connectivity" message. Is it on a laptop? What OS. i might be able to help ya diagnosis the problem.. (damn i hate being geeky sometimes)

my mom went and bought one today, and yes its for like a laptop, but using it on a desktop. and ive got it on the window(yay for blue painters tape), and only getting 1-2 bars, but then again ive got a steel roof. so over the next week or so, im gonna move it around to try to find the best signal.
its a usb760. and mike its just a poor signal :(
thanks tho guys, i didnt know she was gonna run out and buy a cable just to try this thing(we have 30 days to send it back it we dont like it)

anyone know how one of these things would fair outside?(im thinking a fence post, milk jug, and some silicone caulking?) lol
already ALOT faster than dial up, and its bouncing between 1 and 2 bars(wishing i could get all 4 bars, lol)
but im also thinking the weather could be affecting it
any thoughts?

go here..
http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/CoverageLocatorController
click on "Broadband & V Cast" for digital data coverage
Then call a Verizon store near you and ask where the tower that services your area is in relation to your house. This will help you point your antenna if that dont work...
