I about cried when I did it. Hit a curb I didn't see.
Apparently there's a mobile wheel repair specialist in town who quoted me at $125 to fix it.
Check out www.awrswheelrepair.com/columbusga
Either that or I buy a new wheel for 230 and some change shipped. The tire is still inflated, it rides fine, so I'm thinking it's just the outer lip, and the guy said he could fix it. I'm hoping he can fix it enough to where it's not noticeable.
I'm sooooooo upset.

Curb Rash happens especially with low profile tires...I got a couple spots, I need to get fixed also. Let me know how it turns out.

The guy said he can fix it, but if he gets into it and can tell that it's "unfixable," he won't charge me and I'll take the money and put towards a new wheel, so I guess I'm gonna take the chance with this Alloy Wheel Repair Specialist guy.
Anyone know about this kind of repair?

Hope he can fix it for you although the thought of a "re-bent" rim kind of scares me.

Okay, so dude told me on during the estimate that "I'll fix it for "buck and a quarter" (exact words) or I won't charge you a thing" so I had nothing to lose. Next day, he tries fixing the rim, and ends up doing this.

I heard a loud CLAP and I'm like "what was that?" He's like "I'll just replace it" A payment was NEVER mentioned except for during the estimate, so I was under the impression that he was going to waive the 125 since he couldn't fix the rim, and since he actually broke it, he was going to replace it like a GOOD businessman.
He calls me yesterday and is like, "I got your rim, bring me your old one with the tire and my buddy at Big T will mount it tomorrow" So we meet up and exchange. I'm like "anything else?" before I leave, and he's like "oh yeah, I need that 125" and then he tried justifying it like "but you're still saving money, you would've paid 125 for a repair, you're getting the new rim, etc."
I get his logic, but when we met today, we had a little "argument" if you will. He basically said "okay, you don't pay the 125, I keep the rim, you take the bent one back, we go on about our business."
He wouldn't admit to saying that he would waive the fee, although I had my buddy with me who was a witness. He kept denying that part, and kept saying that instead, he said he would "replace it."
Fact is, he never communicated to me that I would still have to cover the repair cost. In fact, he made it clear in the estimate (ONLY time we discussed the price) that if he could not fix it, the fee would be waived.
End of the day though, I paid the 125 reluctantly because he wouldn't budge and the owner of the corporation (Alloy Wheel Repair Specialist - Tom Morris is the owner) said I "was being ridiculous" to me over the phone.
Don't use this company. The professionalism is nonexistent, dude clearly doesn't know what he's doing, and not to mention he was piss drunk when he came to give me the mounted wheel.

So you got a new wheel for 125 though? Sucks about the service but not a bad turn out.
