Ok so my fiance's mom was telling us about some race that is suppose to happen in Columbus not this Saturday but next. She said she heard it would be on closed off streets and it would have police at certain checkpoints to make sure we weren't speeding. I can't remember where she said she heard it from... so I wanted to know if anyone had heard about this?!?

Maybe, but it's legal and you don't have to worry about getting into an accident from cars being in the way. Clears out the roads so that you can focus on driving and not driving around through an obstacle course... not to mention if you DO get into an accident you won't have to worry about losing your license!

Whats up with legalizing shit left and right.. bleh. Street racing should remain illegal because its dangerous, its stupid and well doesnt prove shit. Go race on a track, where you can take full advantage of the car, conditions, and skill. Racing from street light to street light is retarded.

say they close the streets down and you and your homies call each other out, cool.. you take off from the start line, well looks like you forgot to check anything on your car before you raced and didnt notice your left rear tire was flat. BOOM HEADSHOT, you blow your tire out, shit your pants and your car is headed into a local business, telephone pole, ditch.

A). You cause several thousand dollars worth of damage to a innocent business owner
B). You take out a network of power, phone, and 12 yr olds playing MW2
C). You die in a fire..
-in the end, you still have shit your pants

take it to the track where they have safety checks, and you can actually use that skill you call driving

My my what an imagination mike. Hey i'll do this little so called race for $2000. ON the link that was what first prize was last year. I still don't understand the part about no speeding. ghey. i mean how do you see who gets there first? I guess you just have to accelerate around corners well.

A race with speed limits??? I'm not even gonna dignify this lunacy with a comment.

I will say this, if you want the race to be legit a speed limit makes sense. And I applaud the Kiwanis club for trying to get people in the area excited about automotive events. But races like this are supposed to be planned in the back room of a Chinese Restaurant with no one else knowing until after it happens. Watch Mischief videos if you want to see how it's done.
