Ok soooo i know I havent been on here much been busy with stuff and whatnot but anyway. I have been debating on getting a project car or just puting the A4 under the knife and well the A4 is getting sculpted.

Im searching around for some pricing and options, biggest one right now is the manifold. Im not sure whether to go with a T3 mani, or a T4. There are so many options. I could just drop 2k on a prefab'd put to gether already ready to bolt on and play kit but whats the fun in that. I have been chatting with a few fellow tuners of the 1.8t 20v and well came up with some cool combinations.

First off is a custom manifold (both intake & exhaust), second is programming, 2 years have lead the way from only buying prepared tuned software from APR, or GiAC, now however tuners have shown themselves with a better more power punching tune than the bigger companies so I am going to try that out.

As far as the bottom end thankfully the German engineers at Audi decided to equip my engine with a cast iron block, die-forged steel crankshaft, fracture-split forged steel connecting rods, Mahle forged aluminium alloy pistons so the bottom end is pretty stout already for what I am wanting. So no need to upgrade that, besides a basic tune up. the upper end however is another story.

Goals: 300/370awhp

Upgrades consist of the following and might change due to my indecisiveness ... :cool:

-Garrett T3/60-1 with Stage III turbine wheel and 60-1 compressor wheel w/ anti-surge housing.
-Custom tig welded tubular mani from a fellow audi'r
-630cc Injectors
-Eurospec cams 268/260
-Eurospec intake/exhaust valves

Im going with a Mafless tune and im planning on upgrading the MAP sensor. 350hp awhp is pretty much what im limited to due to the crapomatic transmission but should be more than enough for what i want.

Also will be tinting the windows, finishing my interior, swapping wheels for18x8 in the front and 18x9.5 in the rear> BBS RS-GT but they wont be avail till the 20th of july. :D

Going to be putting a iPad in the center and not worry about radio. Someone did it on the zine and it looks awesome

Of course i will be getting the main engine stuff done with that in which is left over will go into the funding of the others. Im excited im ready to lock in a price and press add to cart.

So im debating on the Tial 41mm or the 44mm wastegate. Not sure on which one.

I was going to check out statis to see if they have any tranny mods, but there site is down. If i send in my valve body to IPT they can mod it and have it back to me within 3 days. So i plan on doing that. levelten sucks and last time i used there "bulletproof" system it grenaded on i-185 lulz. The reason is 3/4 throttle the car is faster than full throttle in TIP mod, automode is like a rubberband I never use auto (d). So thats that.

Next on the list is i found a 90* elbow so I can clear my headlights ha. Just need to find a intercooler, oil lines. Also will be going with Ferrea Racing Intake/Exhaust Springs, Seat Locators, and Super Alloy exhuast Valves ( 8,500 rpm certified!!! woot)

scrapping the custom mani, simply to save monies, $700 compared to $350. That being said .. ATP mani should do the trick. :D

Turbo, injectors, fuel rail, fuel pressure reg, fuel pump, lines, are all ordered. I was going with the super 60 but i changed my mind and went with a Precision SC62 Series Turbo ported .70 a/r with a .82 hotside :D


Favor time ... JAMES > would it be possible to use the lift for a few hours? I gotta change out my oil pickup/pump and i have to lift the engine off the subframe to get to 2 bolts. IF not its cool I can do it in my driveway just would be easier if you said yes.

Ok so here is the deal. Due to my massive indecisiveness and compulsive buying before thinking about things lol I have changed my mind. So here is the new plan.....

I will be returning my car pretty much to stock form (suspension, wheels, engine etc) and getting rid of it. I love that car but its a auto which I HATE cannot stand it to be honest. So anyway your probably wondering what i got up my sleeve welllllllllllllllll.. *drops the bomb* I will be selling the car and I already found a replacement.. *bomb #2* I have found a 2004 Mustang mach 1 :]

O2 sensors are crap
exhaust downpipe has a leak
turbo seals are bad (stock k03 turbo)
needs MAF sensor and retune
ABS module is going out
front struts are going out
sunroof decided not to work anymore
radio button #4 decided to jump off and hide somewhere
needs tires & alignment
Tip mode magnets / selector are broke (thanks to some transmission shop!) it goes into tip mode by wiggling the magnet on the gear selector

The good:
New wheel bearins all the way around
New front axles, (rear axles are ok) - yes its AWD
Transmission is almost a year old
New rear main seal
New cams, timing belt, water pump, and cam chain & tensioner
HID upgrade
AC still blows ice cold air and sometimes might wish you had a sweater on
Auto dimming rear view & side mirrors still work
has a phat beating system with some trunk space
FULL SPARE!
Sterring wheel shift buttons! how cool is that?
Widowmaker has been widowed and ejected from cars vicinity
turbo still makes boost (i thought it was blown but turned out the charge pipe camel off...........)
PLUS IT LOOKS sexy, :)


I was gonna ask for $5,000 as is, fixed up replace the bad stuff maybe throw the H&R race / koni shocks on. K04 turbo, and tune it and let it go for $6.5k.. I dont know lol any ideas?

I don't think your making a bad decision but I am a little biased. DOHC 4.6 in Mach1 is a great motor. Lots of people making insane power with them.

You honestly are not gonna like a 2v if you are wantin an all out performance platform...the dohc Is a great platform but very expensive...but a gt is a good platform you can get 500 whp all day on a 2v with some boost

Any PI 2v GT is fine for a platform, the MACH 1 was preferred due to the DOHC 4.6. You definitely wanted a Mustang? GIL has a yellow GT with '00 Cobra R rims say it as I drove by today...I believe the lot across the street has a couple 'new edge' GTs as well. If you wanting a 'cheap' build I would look into a fox. Foxbody couple...yummy

I agree with GTO, Mustang (no '02 Cobra so run VIN if you find one that says it is) '01 Cobra and '03-'04 Terminators. WS6 are nice don't see many running around much more.

in all honesty out of those cars i would take the ws6 first but its def close all of them are great platforms, gto and terminator are good also, and kevo who cares if there arent many running around that makes you cooler for having one :)
